American Crested guinea pigs have a single cowlicked rosette that gives them a crest on the top of their head. It is a contrasting colour to the rest of the body (usually white).

Dalmation guinea pigs have a white body with dark spots.

English Crested guinea pigs have a single cowlicked rosette that gives them a crest on the top of their head. It is the same colour as the rest of their body. It doesn't matter if they have various other colours on their coat, as long as one of those colours is in their crest, then they are an English Crested guinea pig.

Himalayan guinea pigs have a white body with brown or black nose, ears, and feet, and red red eyes.

Roan guinea pigs have darker hairs such as red, or black mixed evenly with white hairs.

Tortoiseshell guinea pigs have rectangular patches, similar in size and distributed evenly and uniformly over the body without running together.
